Love Poems for Boyfriends

If you’ve ever tried writing love poems for boyfriends, you know how hard it can be! While there are some very sweet and sensitive guys out there that love poetry, a lot of times we feel a little self concious about writing one for a guy, afraid that they’ll think it’s cheesy or a little too mushy.

The key to writing good love poems for boyfriends is this: just be yourself. You don’t have to try really hard to write it, you don’t have to worry about the perfect form or even rhyming. Take a few lessons from our examples below:

To the Moon

I would like to take you to the moon
where we would have a picnic
and bounce around
colliding into each other.

I think my heart has started
yodeling for you.

I don’t know why
but I can’t contain the cry
a cry of joy

I Found the Reason

There’s something
about the way
you and I can fly
together
that made me think today
that there must be
something bigger

And I wonder,
if in the realm of the universe
if there might be a reason
a reason I’ve discovered you
and the reason you discovered me

that i am meant for you
could it be
there’s a reason
we’re together every day?

I don’t know a lot about this stuff
and I know that life can be tough
to figure out what everything means

But I think I’ve found the reason
why you and I are together
and it’s because
we’re meant to be.

Like a pickle on a hamburger
like a baseball to the glove
like a swimming pool to the diving board

and nothing else will do.

In the summer
in the fall

and if I try to think of any other
I only seem to discover

who’s ever made me feel this way

Big Love

Big Hugs

to wrap around you

As you can see from these examples, there’s nothing too complicated about simply writing a few phrases that come to mind. You don’t have to rhyme (though you certainly can) and you don’t have to make it overly mushy. Sometimes just relating to something that your boyfriend likes can help you find the perfect inspiration for your love poems for boyfriends.
