Funny Mother’s Day Poems

Mother’s Day is a day meant to honor all Mom’s out there, so nothing could be better than sharing a few funny Mother’s Day Poems with your mom to make her laugh!

One of our favorites is called Momisms: The Things Moms Say, which is pretty funny and cute and sentimental as well. This poem goes on to list many of the phrases that all moms say, such as “Go pick up your room” or “don’t jump on the bed”. Really, it’s sweet, and funny, go read it!

It can be tough to be funny sometimes without being offensive, so it’s important to make sure that whatever you write is something that your mother will really like and not take the wrong way! The last thing you would want to do is upset your mom on Mother’s Day!

Thanks Mom

Happy Mother’s Day Mom!
Today I’d like to take the time
and thank you for all the great things
you’ve done!

Thank you
for cleaning off the walls
when I would draw on them all

Thank you mom
for telling me
not to pick my nose.
Thank you mom,
for always washing all my clothes.

And thank you mom,
for those times
you drove me everywhere
and all the Christmases
when you gave me underwear.

Thanks for the advice
to always wear sunscreen
and thanks for teaching me
how to scrub a pot clean.

I might not have told you
all those things back then,
I might not have realized
someday it would be for my own good
so I want to make it understood:
I LOVE YOU!
Happy Mother’s Day!

Mom Knows Everything

Mom knows everything,
how long to boil an egg,
how to kiss a boo boo on your leg
they know how to see you
from another room
they know how to dust off
cobwebs with a broom
Moms know how to make you laugh
and they know how to
stop you from being sad
mom’s know what things
will poke your eyes out
always looking out
to make sure you’re safe
Mom’s are the best
at knowing everything!

Poems for a Wonderful Brother

Do you love your brother? Then you will like these poems for a wonderful brother you can write, share, and give to the guy in your life who’s always been there for you

My Brother, My Friend

My brother, my friend
the guy who will stick by me
until the very end

I’ve known you
since we were little kids
and I have such great memories
of all the things we did
sure we’ve had our fights
like siblings do
but no sibling rivalry was ever enough
to come between
me and you

I’m glad you’re my brother,
you’re a wonderful guy
I hope this sappy poem doesn’t make you cry.

The Best Guy I Know

You’re the best guy I know
and that’s because
you’re my brother

You helped me
be who I am
you made me
come out of my shell like a clam
and I don’t really
know what I would
have been without you

As a kid we did
all the things all kids do
and now I am glad
that I spent that time with you

Good Big Brother

I am most proud of my son
for his ability to be such a good big brother.

He’s wanted to be a brother
since he was three years old,
asking Santa Claus to bring him
a baby sister for Christmas.

Well, I don’t know what Santa was thinking,
but sure enough he got not only one
baby sister, but two.

And he loves to hold them,
loves to play with them,
he likes telling them stories
and telling them it’s all okay

he’s such a good big brother
he shares his toys and his snacks
and doesn’t even mind when
his sister topples over
the blocks he stacks.

Yes, a good big brother,
your sisters are so lucky to have you.

What a Wonderful Brother Does

A wonderful brother remembers its your birthday and calls you
when it seems like everybody, even your own mother, forgot.

A wonderful brother takes the time to look under the hood of your car
and tells you whether he can fix that weird sound or not.

A wonderful brother can lift up all kinds of heavy stuff
and help you move a sofa bed up a flight of stairs.

A wonderful brother has a lot of friends he likes to see
but still takes the time to show you he cares.

A wonderful brother is someone just like you.

Thank You Poems for Parents

poems for parents

Writing thank you poems for parents is a great way to show your appreciation to them for any reason or occasion. Parenting is not an easy job and so showing your gratitude will always be appreciated. Whether you’re still a kid or a grown adult, these parent thank you poems can help share exactly what you feel.

Thank You Mom and Dad

Mom, Dad,
I want to say thank you
because you’ve taught me how
to appreciate someone when
they’ve done something great for you.

You’ve taught me to be kind
so every thing I do is filled with kindness
You taught me to respect
and to judge only with blindness

You’ve shown me how to do
everything, you’ve taken me
from a crying hungry baby
to a grown adult.

Your love has shown me
how to love others
Your patience has helped me
to know waiting is a virtue

Thank you Mom and Dad
I love you

Single Parent Poem

It wasn’t easy
being on your own
and having me to care for

I know you weren’t always able
to do or give me all the things
you wanted.

But you did your best
and we made it through
and I’m so very blessed
to have someone like you.

I Wanted to Make You Proud

When I spilled the bucket of water
all over the floor
trying to help you mop
I wanted to make you proud

When I left the ice cream
out on the counter and
made my very own Sundae
I wanted to make you proud

When I pasted hearts
on paper with glitter and glue
that got all over the house
I wanted to make you proud

When I gave you a really big hug
and left sticky hand prints
all over your clothes
I wanted to make you proud

I know the things I’ve done
can sometimes be frustrating
but as a kid I just didn’t know

So I hope today you know
how much I love you
and all that I’ve done
so you can be proud.

Thankful for You

I am thankful
that I had parents like you
someone who’s always there
for me to talk to

I am lucky
that you taught me
so many good things
that I can do good things too.

I am happy
that of all the parents in the world
I have you.
