do not lie
they do not falsify
truth is the standard fare

They are independent
of others
they follow none
and do what is right

Respect for life
and all things given
she destroys nothing
in no choice

She moves, she soothes
she helps you out
she has no doubt –
many are the qualities of a virtuous woman.

With a kiss she can make
all boo-boos
better and seem to disappear.

With all of her strength she can love
she can tolerate and respect
She can persevere
when the rest have become weary

The strengths of a woman are many.

Illuminated, she glows
in the soft bask of the light
her patience has paid
the dues for her beliefs

Enlightened, she knows
the wrong from the right
and questions whats said
that is against her beliefs

Determined, she goes
if it takes all night
she will go until she’s led
the strong to her beliefs

I hope you don’t make all the same dumb mistakes that I made.
I hope my dumb mistakes have taught me enough to teach you.

I hope you learn how to do all the things I wanted to, but never did.
I hope the things I want to do are things that you’ll like, too.

I hope you will always stay healthy, strong, and well.
I hope you never get sick.

I hope you get everything you want.
I hope I can give you everything you need.

I hope you will watch the world with both eyes and ears
I hope you see the beauty in all of what you see.

The Other Side of Darkness

What can be accomplished at night?
At a time when there is no light,
and little movement outside
it seems as if life has come to a standstill
and there is little we can do to change until
we seen the sun again.

So often we forget
that on the other side of the world
it is daylight, and where they are
The sun has risen.

On the other side of darkness,
they are drinking their morning coffee.

They have gotten into their cars.
They are working.
They are teaching.
They are learning.

They are…
sharing
laughing
playing
watching
hugging.

And it will go on, until it is our turn
to see the daylight
and they wonder
what happens
on the other side of darkness.
