bounce without care
weightless and free

leaves the taste of your lips:
a kiss twist

tingling in my feet
whenever our two hearts great

Love River

It’s a love river
makes you quiver
so strong
and long
flowing beautiful
rushing until full

A Few Words Why

Honey I’d like to share with you
a few words why I love you…
From your lovely face
to your purest grace
Those beautiful eyes

my heart can fly
when I’m with you
I love you

with grace so sweet
on her sailing feet
across the floor

100 Reasons Why I Love You Poem

Could there be anything more romantic than a 100 reasons why I love you poem? When you want your partner to know how much you care, it’s a great way to show what it is you love about them and why you want them in your life.

Best of all, you don’t really have to worry a lot about rhyming or anything else. This type of style is very easy to do and you can easily duplicate it in a few different ways to customize it for the person you love.

100 Reasons Why I Love You

I love the way you laugh (that’s one)
I love the way you smile (there’s two)
I could go on all night long
giving you all the reasons I love you

You always listen to what I have to say
you always know what to do to brighten up my day
I like the way you kiss me on my cheek
I like the way your hair is so sleek

I love the way you tilt your head just so
as if there is something I’m supposed to know

Then there’s the way you think of me
before you think of yourself
and the way you organized
all the sweaters on my shelf

I love the way you write me notes
and hide them for me to find
I love the way it seems like you always
know what’s going on in my mind

You are always polite
with pleases and thank yous
And this poem of 100 reasons
is a way to say you’re welcome to you

You never seem to get distressed
Even when you are really stressed

I love how you think to the future
and how you’re filled with hope
I love how no matter what the
situation is, you always know how to cope

I love the way you
eat your salad
I love the way you
eat a hamburger

I also love that
you always remember
the good times
and you can always plan ahead

Now we’re at 21 reasons, can you believe it already?
I haven’t even mentioned yet
how much i love your spaghetti!

I love your charm, I love your wit
I love how you stand and sit
I love you when you’re sleeping
I love you when you’re dreaming
every minute of every day
I can’t even tell you how much
I love it when you say
you love me too

I love how you get along
with everybody
you even somehow
get along with my family

I love it how you know
how to fix things
How you know to make
everything all right
I love how you steal the covers
in the middle of the night

It’s your trust,
your honesty
your loyalty and more
can you believe I’m now at reason #54?

I love the way you
know everything
i love that you can name the 23rd president of the United States
(what’s his name again?)
And I love how you wash the plates

I love those little dimples
and the sparkles in your eyes
I love the way you smell
and even when you cry

It’s the way you always share
the way you always care
The way you bring inspiration
and your compassion

I love your crreative thinking
your artistic side
the way you do things the way you see right
and how you do not judge
or ever criticize

I could go on all night
with a million reasons here
but I can sum them up with
just one little word:
EVERYTHING!
I love everything about you!

Do you think your partner might like a 100 Reasons I Love You Poem? Why not go ahead and write them one? It’s not hard, and it can be a lot of fun!

Love Poems for Him

Writing or finding love poems for a guy can be tricky sometimes, because many times guys are not always really emotional and you don’t want to risk being too overly emotional or mushy, but you still want to show how much you care and love him. The good news is that even though it might be a little more difficult to find the perfect words to express the way you feel, this doesn’t mean you can’t write or share love poems for him that won’t be greatly appreciated and well received.

In most cases, it’s best to think about what your guy likes the best and how you communicate with one another as it is. Doing something totally out of character or unusual may seem strange, but if the poem is written in normal conversational style chances are your guy will be happy with it.

Here are some example Love Poems for Him we decided to share with you to use as some inspiration:

Always With Me

I close my eyes and you are there
in my dreams every night
I take a deep breath and I
inhale your taste
and everything feels all right

You are always with me
no matter where I go
And I will always love you
more than I could show

I close my eyes and remember
all the good times we’ve spend
together, a minute is
never wasted when I spend it with you

You are always on my mind
You are always in my heart
No matter what else is going on
I know we’re never apart

Turns Out I Love You

I didn’t know it when I knew it
I couldn’t show it I thought I blew it
So many thoughts racing through my head
so many things I could have done instead

Why didn’t I see it so much sooner
that you were the right one for me
How could I have not realized
that I loved you as much as you love me?

I never would have expected this
not in a million and forty five years
you’re the one I’m thinking about
all the time in my mind

So even though I
feel kind of silly
and even though it
seems kind of strange
I can’t help but tell you
it turns out I love you.

In Football and Baseball

In football and baseball, I do thee wed
through goals and home runs
overtime and penalties
down the yards lines I will run for you
and how I will stretch to make
that winning catch for you
Whatever the score may be
whether winning or losing
I will always be your cheerleader

I Suck at Writing Poems

I am not a very good poet. Seriously.
I do not know how to make the words rhyme right
I could spend all night trying to think of words
and phrases that rhyme with you
I don’t know anything about stanzas
I don’t know how to get the perfect meter
I am not sure if what I write is even logical or
makes sense
and I’m sure there are a million rules of poetry I may be breaking
But, I don’t care, and
I know you don’t care,
because you love me, and when you
love somebody you don’t mind
that their poetry is horrible, rotten really
so bad it should be crumpled up and never read
because that’s what love is about. You know? It’s okay to
write a crappy poem and share it with somebody you
love because when they love you and you love them
then it doesn’t matter what you write
you just know
that everything is okay
better than okay
it’s freaking awesome.

And so, despite my horrible poetry writing skills
I have decided
I would write this poem
just especially for you
to tell you
that I love you
and I’m glad
that I can share
even my worst talents
with you and they will still
make you smile.

Hope you enjoyed these!

Funny Teenage Love Poems

This post on funny teenage love poems was inspired by an old poem I found that I wrote when I was a little bit older than a teenager, but was going through that same phase of feelings you get when you’re a teenager because I don’t know why, but I felt like these strange feelings of nervousness around the guy. Now though, I barely remember why I even wrote it in the first place.

I had a really supportive English teacher about my bad poetry, and so because we always had a class every week where we would write our own poems and share one with the class, I gave him a bunch of my poems and asked him to help me pick the right one to read out loud to the class.

This particular poem was one of them in the pile, and he said to me: “Dude, there is something wrong with you.”

So, maybe this is the right one to share under a category of funny poems about teenage love.

Suddenly

Suddenly,
I am fifteen
I am fifteen again
and I don’t know what to do with my arms
when your own are around mine

I would like to just chop them
off so I wouldn’t have to worry
about my arms getting in the way

but then you would not love me
how could you love me?
nobody would love a girl who chopped off
her own arms.

—————————–

I would write more, but it’s hard to think of teenage love as funny – mostly its just miserably awkward for a lot of people. Though, looking back now, I suppose it is kind of funny. And I wonder sometimes if maybe my English teacher might have been right.

So, here’s your poem writing challenge for today: write funny teenage love poems. I’m sure you can think of something great!

Funny Dirty Love Poems

Have you ever read a few funny dirty love poems once in awhile? They’ll make you blush. Don’t worry – while our poems are “dirty” we have kept them PG-Rated because while we are okay with writing poems that use offensive or provocative language and totally think it is okay because poems are meant to express whatever it is that you are thinking, it’s just not our style to be a little too extreme, especially in matters like this. Not to mention, if we’re not careful, we might make people mad.

And while usually sometimes we don’t really care if we make someone mad with our poetry, we simply just don’t wish to publish that kind of stuff here because on the internet you really don’t ever know who will read it. And so, since we have no control over what age people are who will come to our site, we feel it is best to be very PC and family friendly. We don’t write or publish anything on this site that we would be horrified to find out our kids or our grandma read.

So, that’s why these poems are kind of funny, because they’re not dirty like you’re probably hoping for – they’re dirty in the sense of dirt, like the earth we stand upon. Hey, we’re trying to be creative here.

Mud Bath

You tell me
you want to do
something dirty
something naughty
something crazy

so we go outside
and jump in muddy puddles.

You Need a Bar of Soap

Honey, I do love you,
you know that.
I love you like roses love their petals
like cats love their naps
I love you like a bowl of soup
loves a spoon

But there’s something I noticed
and it’s kinda hard to tell you
but just remember how much i love you
while you’re reading my little poem.

I know you worked very hard today
and i’m sure you didn’t have time
for a shower
but honey,
you need a bar of soap.

Worms

In science class
we had to dissect worms
and it was really gross
the only way
i could get over it
was to think to myself
about you
and how you’re not gross
and hopefully
i will never have to dissect you.

If You Loved Me

If you loved me,
your dirty clothes
would go in the hamper
and not on the floor.

If you loved me,
you would put
away the ketchup
instead of leaving it on the table.

If you loved me,
you would do the dishes
you would vacuum
you would take out the trash

because while i love you
i’m not a maid.

—————-

Yeah, sorry if these poems might have disappointed you, especially if you were looking for something that was really funny or maybe just something that would be a little more risque…but, it was fun to write them at least!

Love Poems for Boyfriends

If you’ve ever tried writing love poems for boyfriends, you know how hard it can be! While there are some very sweet and sensitive guys out there that love poetry, a lot of times we feel a little self concious about writing one for a guy, afraid that they’ll think it’s cheesy or a little too mushy.

The key to writing good love poems for boyfriends is this: just be yourself. You don’t have to try really hard to write it, you don’t have to worry about the perfect form or even rhyming. Take a few lessons from our examples below:

To the Moon

I would like to take you to the moon
where we would have a picnic
and bounce around
colliding into each other.

I would like to take you
around the world
a million times
because no matter where I go
I like being with you.

I would like to take you
to the moon
where the only ones we know
would be each other

When You’re Around

When you’re around
I don’t worry
I don’t think about anything
except sometimes the sound
of your heart beating next to mine

From You to Me

It’s midnight
and it’s been a long day
and everything seems like it never
goes right

until
just now
when i go to check my email
and there’s a little note there
from you

it’s the little things
like that you do
that make everything else
seem okay

Hearts Yodeling

Does anybody yodel anymore?
Yodel Yodel Yodel le he who…
I think my heart has started
yodeling for you.

I don’t know why
but I can’t contain the cry
a cry of joy
yodeling for you

Yodel Yodel Yodel
I love you

I Found the Reason

There’s something
about the way
you and I can fly
together
that made me think today
that there must be
something bigger

And I wonder,
if in the realm of the universe
if there might be a reason
a reason I’ve discovered you
and the reason you discovered me

Could it be
that you were meant for me
could it be
that i am meant for you
could it be
there’s a reason
we’re together every day?

I don’t know a lot about this stuff
and I know that life can be tough
to figure out what everything means

But I think I’ve found the reason
why you and I are together
and it’s because
we’re meant to be.

It’s Only You

Like a pickle on a hamburger
like a baseball to the glove
like a swimming pool to the diving board
I need you
and nothing else will do.

In the summer
in the fall
in the spring
and when you call
I can’t help but melt
when I hear your voice.

There’s a prickle in my stomach
there’s a sizzle in my toes
there’s something about you
that makes my heart explode

and if I try to think of any other
I only seem to discover
there isn’t any other
who’s ever made me feel this way
before…

it’s only you.

Big Love

Big Hugs
and big kisses too
i’ve got such a big love
to wrap around you

As you can see from these examples, there’s nothing too complicated about simply writing a few phrases that come to mind. You don’t have to rhyme (though you certainly can) and you don’t have to make it overly mushy. Sometimes just relating to something that your boyfriend likes can help you find the perfect inspiration for your love poems for boyfriends.

Gangster Sad Love Poems

gangster-poems

Today’s poetry challenge: Write gangster sad love poems.

Writing about something that you have no experience with or no nothing about is a great way to push your boundaries and creativity as a writer. Everybody in their lifetime at least once will feel that feeling of sad love where someone doesn’t love you like you love them, or you can’t be together, or maybe something sad happened that made you cry. Writing about it from a different perspective or point of view can help you better yourself as a poetry writer. Sure, you might feel a little awkward about it, but it really will give you some inspiration, we promise.

A gangster is a member in a gang of criminals. Think about the classic musical of the West Side Story – the somewhat modern take on classic Romeo and Juliet, the star crossed lovers were members of different gangs. Or you could try writing the poem from the perspective of a character in the movie the Godfather. Have fun with it!

Here are a few examples to get you started – but don’t hesitate to do something completely different, too!

Division

In the neighborhood
in the streets
in the eyes of the devil
in the sleep

I see an angel
I see her lips
she whispers honey

She’s from the other side
if she only knew what it’s like
she’d be terrified

There’s a division between us
it is an imaginary line
I can’t tell you why it’s there
but it’s been there for a really long time

They say this angel
they say she’s no good for me
afraid to stand up and say
i’m too good for this

in the neighborhood of darkness
behind the sun and moon
there’s love waiting for us
but it must just be too soon
we can’t be together
until we find peace

Tell Mama

tell my mama i’m in love with a gangster
tell my mama that it’s too late now
ain’t nothing I can say to convince her
that falling for a gangster can work out

he’s gonna by me diamond rings
he’s gonna quit once he gets me everything

tell my mama i’m moving out
tell her I’m pregnant now
tell my mama it’s a baby boy

he’s gonna get it when he gets home
ain’t seen him in days leaving us all alone

tell my mama i’ve been missing her
tell my mama should’ve listened to her
tell my mama i’m coming home

Okay, now its your turn to write a gangster sad love poem! Share yours in the comments below.

Will You Marry Me Poems

These will you marry me poems are great inspiration for asking the one you love to marry you. Proposing is a whirlwind of excitement, nervousness, and happiness. Writing a poem is one way to show how you feel and ask them to marry you in a creative, romantic, and memorable way.

When you are writing engagement poems, it is important that you make it as personal as possible. Making it personal is what makes it special – using a generic poem isn’t going to win you any romance points, especially in the time of the internet when you can easily search for a poem and see if someone else wrote it first.

The good news is, even if you aren’t a natural poet or good with coming up with rhymes or expressing your feelings, there are many great examples for you to use and adapt into your own work. If you find a poem you like you can always personalize it to make it more special for your both.

Here are a few sample and example Will You Marry Me Poems to use:

A Question

In my life I’ve had many questions to ask
and it seems since knowing you
they’ve all been answered

You’ve made everything complete
You’ve swept me off my feet
Everything I need to understand
Can be had just by holding your hand

I’ve never been so sure of anything else in my life
as I ask you one last question:
Will you be my wife?

The Only One

So many times we wonder
what we’ll do with our lives
and who will be there by our side

You’re the only one I want beside me
for the rest of my life
Will you Marry Me?

Someday Starts Today

I always thought
someday I would meet
a beautiful person
who would change the way
I see the world

I didn’t know who it would be
or what we would do
but I knew when I first saw you
that person would be you

And so it seems that someday
has become today
and I’d like to ask you
will you marry me and spend
every other someday with me too?

Can’t Wait Another Day

I’ve thought about making sure
I had all the timing just right
to pick a day you would
remember the rest of your life

And so it seems there is
always something happening
I can’t seem to find that perfect moment
for a question I’ve been asking

I can’t wait another day
Will you Marry Me?

I Heart You Poems

I heart you poems is another fun little exercise for poetry writing that will help you write some more fun and exciting poems.

The theme of this challenge is to use the words “I Heart You” in your poem and write about anything you want to write about – it doesn’t necessarily need to be about love or relationships to be a good poem.

Here’s some of our examples:

I Heart You, Poem

I heart you poem.
i love you
I have you
in my head
the words
inside my heart
the love inside the dark
your poem is beautiful your
time is a word I can’t understand.

Hearts, a Typography Poem

Typography
the letters and symbols
sometimes numerals

used frequently
in computer applications
when you cannot
use a pen to draw and express your emotions

we create these instead
I <3 You
XOXOXOXO
xxxs & ooos

You make me :)
You make me :P
I <3 You.

Two Hearts Sitting on a Bench

There are two hearts sitting on a bench
and they’ve only now just met
and the one asks the other
how he got on the bench
and he tells the story of abandonment
and misery
and then that heart asks the other heart
what brought it to the bench
and the answer was love,
because when love is in misery
it needs another heart to hold.

You and Me

You and me
are perfect as can be
You and me
belong in a tree
a really big tall tree
one with lots of leaves
one that lets us be together
without anyone interrupting us.

You and me
let’s swing up high
let’s swing all night
the branches will never let us go
because i heart you.

When Your Heart Hurts

When your heart hurts,
I will bring you the band aid
I will give you the syrup
the happily ever after magic kiss
that makes it all better.

When your heart hurts,
I will do what it takes
to make it not hurt anymore
so you can go back to loving again

When your heart hurts,
I will give you mine to hold.

I Heart You

I heart houses.
I heart New York.
I heart apple juice.
I heart a fork.

I heart cats.
I heart dogs.
I heart horses,
I even heart frogs.

But of all these things
there’s only one that matters the most:
Yes, it is that
I heart YOU.

I’ll Miss You Poems

We decided to add a few more “I’ll Miss You Poems” to our poems box after we finished writing our collection of Sweet Miss You Poems.

Some of these have a little bite to them, others are just as sweet as the first batch. But enough of us talking about them already, why don’t we let you read them and decide for yourself what they might be about? You know we would love to hear your thoughts and comments in our commenting section below.

I’ll Miss You Period

I’ll Miss You.

What more is there to say?
You won’t be here
I won’t be there.
We won’t be together
No more hearing the sound of your voice
No more feeling your arms around me
No more watching each other
Rather than think
about all of these things
I’ll leave it at that.
I’ll Miss You. Period.

Wish It Wasn’t So

Why do you have to leave now?
When things are just beginning to get good
It’s like interrupting a fairy tale
before the happy ending

I can wish for so many things
I could wish you’d come back
But I can’t control anything
I can’t make you stay here

Why’d you pick now
of all the times to go
Why do it when my love for
you had just started to begin to grow?

Why not wait
until I feel bitter first?
Why did you wait
for my heart to make
room for you?

I wish it wasn’t so
wish you didn’t have to go
wish you’d stay a little longer
let my heart beat a little stronger

I will miss you.

Someone I’ll Never See Again

You are someone
I’ll never see again
I know this
the minute you
decide you’re going away

You won’t come back to visit
You won’t call me to say hello
You won’t send me a message on facebook
or even care to know
what I’m up to or that I’d really
like to still be where
I used to be
on your shelf of friends and family

And so,
it’s just a prediction
because I know that you said you would call
and you said you would write
but the truth is after too long
we might forget the fight
it takes to keep in contact.

I will miss you, somebody
I’ll never see again.

When You Get Up This Morning

When you get up this morning,
I’ll have a note
there on the pillow
telling you
I’ve gone

I won’t leave an explanation
I won’t characterize damnation
I will starve you of the simple gratification
of knowing why I’ve left.

There will be no foreseeing
of the reasons of my leaving
so you won’t know
that I will miss you
when I’ve gone.

A Wonderful Day

A wonderful day starts
with me and you together
we eat our breakfast
you like the cereal and I go for the
granola.

And then we talk about the things we’d like to do
all day together with each other
and then we go and do them
until we are so happy and exhausted
all we can do is say
let’s go to bed and collapse
into each other’s arms.

This is a perfect day, and all I can think of
to keep me hanging on until you will come back.
Until then, I’ll miss you.

Miss You Already

I miss you already.
It’s been specifically fifteen minutes and thirty three seconds since you’ve left.
Thirty four seconds.
Thirty five seconds.

Oh why I am counting
It won’t bring you back any sooner

I don’t know what to do
I’m going to go crazy.
I can’t think of anything else
I can’t do anything else
except think about
how long it’s been
and how long I’ve got to wait.

Let me tell you something,
it’s a long time to wait when I’m away from you.
I hope you don’t miss me as much as I miss you.
I wouldn’t want you to go through this feeling I have
this sensation of your head being numb
and your toes on fire and your body unable to move
like you’re half paralyzed in a stimulated environment
where half the world is depending on you to do something
and you can’t escape this feeling like a cat stuck in your chest

Yeah, I hope you don’t miss me that much.
