Rudyard Kipling was an English journalist, novelist, and poet. Born in India in December 1865, he was a popular and notable author in the British Empire. His works include The Jungle Book and numerous short stories. In 1907, he was awarded the Nobel Prize for Literature.

Rudyard Kipling Biography
Rudyard Kipling was born in Bombay, India. He began his studies at the age of 5 years old in the United Kingdom. After some time working for newspapers and focusing on his studies, he spent time traveling between India and London.
He married his wife Carrie Balestier in January of 1892. They settled in Vermont, which is where the Jungle Book was written. Together they had three children, Josephine, Elsie, and John.
